Anthony Bennice, 77, passed away after a lengthy illness at home on Thursday, February 18, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. Anthony was born in Licata, Sicily on April 18, 1943, a son of the late Paolo and Maria Bennice. The family immigrated to Schenectady in the early 1950's. Anthony established Home Style Pizzeria in 1973. He was predeceased by his siblings, Teresa Levito and Angelo Bennice. Anthony is survived by his beloved wife Ida Miranda Bennice, whom he married on February 9, 1964; loving children, Maria Bennice Sanchez and Paul (Katie) Bennice; grandchildren, Oscar Sanchez, Anthony Bennice, Elena Sanchez, Clayton, Lucas, and Isabella Bennice; siblings, Rina Adonnino, Rosalie (Mario) Montesano and Louis (Cindy) Bennice; a brother-in-law, Aurelio Levito; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law. Services will be held on Tuesday at 12 noon from the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, 501 Union St., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1pm at St. Anthony's Church, Seward Place. Entombment will follow in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home on Tuesday from 9am to 12 noon. Memorial contributions may be made in Anthony's memory to St. Anthony's Church Restoration Fund.
