Angela Jean Nelligan

Guided by His angels, Angela Jean Nelligan, 77, was called home to the Lord on Monday, March 15, 2021. Angela was born in Schenectady a daughter of the late Angelo and Viola Meola DeVito. She received a BSN degree in nursing and worked as an RN for many years. Angela was a devoted mother, grandmother and faithful servant of our Lord. Her faith shone brightly among all who knew her throughout her long blessed life. Angela was a Secular Franciscan for over 25 years. She was predeceased by a brother George DeVito. Angela is survived by those whose life she inspired greatly; her children, James Nelligan, Michael Nelligan and Michele Nelligan; twelve grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; siblings, Vivian Stirpe and Michael (Susan) DeVito, sister-in-law, Cindy DeVito, nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 9 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church, Union Street. Interment will follow in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Glenville. Relatives, friends are invited and may call on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Rossi &Ditoro Funeral Home, 501 Union St. Memorial contributions may be made in Angela's memory to Schenectady County Right to Life.
